book review: Eat Pray Love
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.
Wow.
Double wow.
This book absolutely rocked me. It was well written, funny, poignant, even educational. But the most important thing was that it made me think. About my life, about what I've been doing wrong, and how I can improve myself.
So many times while reading that book, I stopped and went "Oh my God! That's me! Right there!" and then in the next sentence, she would tell me how she fixed that problem, how she was able to improve herself. It was incredibly inspiring. I've taken many of the self-improving personal habits she aquired while traveling, and adopted them into my own life.
It actually made me want to become spiritual. (Not religious, mind you. Spiritual.) Its something I can't obviously switch on, and it may not be something in me that I'm capable of achieving. But it inspired me to go to yoga!! Which I think I am going to do again on Monday. And I'm going to try and go to the one at school this coming semester.
I've never had a book inspire me to do things. Or make me feel like a better, more open person just by reading it. Obviously, I won't run off to Italy/India/Indonesia to try and find myself like Elizabeth Gilbert did (although Ireland isn't out of the question...) but there are things I want to do in the here and now.
So read this book. Ladies will probably enjoy it more, since its written from the perspective of a woman) but lads, you might like it as well. Scott, especially you should read this, since you read more books than anyone I know.

Happy reading!
