Tonight's sociology class was about sexual violence. We discussed the book Transforming A Rape Culture (written by one of the profs here), After that, we watched most of The Vagina Monologues. You want empowering? That is so empowering!
I HAVE A VAGINA! IT'S BEAUTIFUL! I AM BEAUTIFUL! HEAR MEEEEEEEEE!!

The first part of this entry (which may be long...) is going to have spoilers from the book I am currently reading, Blindness by Jose Saramago, because it deals with an America in shambles, and a had a very graphic scene involving...

We followed up the discussion of violence with the Vagina Monologues, which really makes me proud to be me. I need to reclaim my sexuality! I am a woman in my prime, who is sexy and beautiful (if in a non-traditional sense), and I should be proud of that! I should celebrate it.

Sexuality is a wonderous thing. It's an expression of love, and of confidence. It deserves to be recognized, and beautified and celebrated. Send up balloons! Do a friggin dance! Jump up and down! Be in love with yourself and the world.
